Saint-Malo, a land of history, bears witness to the passage of time. Formerly part of the Kingdom of France, Saint-Malo became a republic in 1590, but it was the discovery of the Americas and the development of trade with the Indies that enabled the privateer city to emancipate itself economically. Jacques Cartier, Duguay-Trouin and Surcouf are among Saint-Malo's greatest historical figures. "RENAISSANCE GAMES AND LEISURE ACTIVITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN SAINT-MALO
If you're visiting our hotel in Saint-Malo centre-ville with your children this summer, you won't want to miss the activities taking place at the Musée Jacques-Cartier on Tuesday, July 25 from 2:30 pm to 6 pm. Called "Renaissance Games and Leisure", this educational and friendly event takes place in the Manoir de Limoëlou, the only legacy of navigator Jacques Cartier when he set out to explore Canada in 1534.
The eponymous museum is just a 20-minute drive from our hotel, and will enable your children to learn about an important chapter in Breton history. It's also an opportunity for you and your children to learn about the games and pastimes of the Renaissance, a key period in French history. Games of skill, games of chance, games of strategy - the whole family can take part, and you'll also have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the Manoir de Limoëlou afterwards.
WHAT ACTIVITIES AWAIT YOU AT THE JACQUES-CARTIER MUSEUM?
In addition to the navigator's room, which was restored and fitted out in 1984, you can take part in a variety of tours focusing on three main themes: Jacques Cartier's voyages to Canada, daily life in the 16th century and navigation at the time of the Great Discoveries. What's more, a bookshop is also available to visitors!
